'A zombie (Haitian Creole: zonbi; North Mbundu: nzumbe) is an "animated corpse resurrected by mystical means, such as witchcraft".[1] The term is often figuratively applied to describe a hypnotized person bereft of consciousness and self-awareness, yet ambulant and able to respond to surrounding stimuli. Since the late 19th century, zombies have acquired notable popularity, especially in North American and European folklore.
In modern times, the term "zombie" has been applied to an undead being in horror fiction, largely drawn from George A. Romero's 1968 film Night of the Living Dead. They have appeared as plot devices in various books, films, television shows, and video games'

Zombies never get old. AMC has become such an exceptional network with Mad Men, Breaking Bad and now Walking Dead. Show is great, you feel the struggle of the characters every scene. Zombie make-up is exceptional and if you are into video games this show feels like Fallout on many aspects.
I always appreciate it when a TV/movie sticks to the original version, a comic book in this instance. If you love the comic book series (which I do and have read every issue printed) you will no doubt be hooked immediately. I always enjoy a good zombie film but they always lacked the really good storyline found in The Walking Dead comic. All these factors give The Walking Dead a totally fresh spin on the zombie genre.
